About

Tejaswini Halthore

Tejaswini is a Bharatanatyam artist and educator whose practice is rooted in the rich grammar and tradition of the form while continually exploring its boundaries. With over 25 years of rigorous training, her work is grounded in strong technique and seeks to question the status quo—creating space for subversive, thought-provoking art that challenges conventions while remaining anchored in the classical vocabulary.

A graded artist of Doordarshan, Tejaswini has performed widely across India and abroad, bringing to each stage a blend of rigour, emotion, and artistic curiosity. Her performances are shaped by a belief that Bharatanatyam is not static—it is a living, breathing form capable of expressing thought and layered storytelling.
As a choreographer, she has worked with numerous school and college dance teams in Bangalore, crafting pieces across classical, folk, and freestyle formats. Her approach to choreography is collaborative—she nurtures the group, co-creates with dancers, and brings their vision to life through movement. Every project she undertakes is anchored in learning, reflection, and joy.

At the heart of her work is a belief that dance can be a deeply personal and transformative experience—one that builds discipline, imagination, and a sense of community.
